FOLEY – The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, July 21.

The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.

Among the items on the agenda are: 

  • A public hearing to declare weed to be a public nuisance and order its abatement on Bay View Drive.
  • A public hearing to consider the approval or denial of a business license.
  • A public hearing to consider the revocation of the business license for the Colt Grill.
  • Hearing department reports for taxes, permits and plans, Community Development, the Police Department, Fire Department and Marketing Department.
  • Establishing an Entertainment District for the Downtown Foley Arts and Entertainment District.
  • Granting a request for a waiver of the moratorium for property located at the northwest corner of Pride Drive and Juniper Street.
  • Waiving the fees at Max Griffin Park for a Walk For Life Walk-A-Thon by Women’s Care Medical Center.
  • Setting a public hearing on declaring a location on East Orange Avenue a public nuisance and ordering its abatement.
  • Approving a capital purchase for the Police Department, UAVs and accessories.
  • Approving a capital purchase for the Police Department, UTV.
  • Accepting the American World War II Heritage City grant.
  • Approving monthly bids for June.
  • Amending Resolution 25-1142, a resolution to approve the surplus and disposal of multiple street department items and authorize the purchase of their replacements.
  • Declaring weeds to be a public nuisance at a location on John Author Drive and ordering its abatement.
  • Accepting and using unbudgeted donation money received by the Foley Police Department.
  • Approving the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce’s Chicago Street Supper Club event.
  • Approving a capital project to grind and seal the rafters and replacing pipes at the Coastal Alabama Farmers and Fishermens Market.
  • Amending the contract for services, City of Foley Farmers and Fishermens Market Operator Contract.
  • Approving Engineering Group Design’s survey proposal for Foley Industrial Park Lot 3-B Unit 7.
  • Appointing Thurston Phelps Bullock as executive director of public safety.
  • Appointing a new police chief.
  • Reappointing Rick Blackwell to the Public Facilities Cooperative District Board.
  • Approving Change Order 1 for the Finance Building Project.
  • Authorizing employees to enter property on Bay View Drive to abate a public nuisance.
  • Approving a new District 3 City Council member without opposition.
  • Considering a business license application for Southern Grace Bridal and Tuxedo LLC.
  • Granting a request for a waiver of the moratorium for property located at the southeast corner of Baldwin County 32 and Bucolic Lane.
