FOLEY – Non-emergency Foley city offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 1 for the Labor Day holiday.

The City Council meeting and work session usually held on the first Monday of the month will be Tuesday, Sept. 2. The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the City Council chamber in Foley City Hall on East Laurel Avenue.

All city offices, except for services such as police and fire, will be closed Monday, Sept. 1 for the holiday. Offices will reopen at the start of regular business hours Tuesday, Sept. 2.

The Foley Public Library will close at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 and be closed Monday, Sept. 1.

The Graham Creek Nature Preserve Interpretive Center will be closed Saturday, Aug. 30 and Monday, Sept. 1. Trails and other outdoor recreation facilities at the preserve will remain open seven days a week from dawn until dusk.

The Foley Railroad Museum and Holmes Medical Museum will also be closed Monday.

Public Works offices will be closed. Recycling collections usually scheduled for Mondays will be collected Tuesday, Sept. 2. The pickup schedule for the rest of the week will not be affected.

The collection of limbs, yard debris and bulk items will resume Tuesday where pickup left off the previous week. Residents are asked to be patient since some collections may be delayed until crews catch up with the pickups.

Garbage collection services are not expected to be affected by the holiday.
