FOLEY – Book collectors and other literary fans will have a chance to add to their reading stacks when the Friends of the Foley Public Library holds its annual Book Sale on Feb. 8, 9 and 10 at the Foley Civic Center.

The main sale event will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 9 and from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 10. On Saturday, participants can fill a Tanger shopping bag for $5.

Admission is free and open to the public.

The friends will also hold a special preview sale for members on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Memberships will be available at the door. Annual memberships are $10 for an individual and $15 for a family.

The sale is a fundraiser for the library. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the library.

The annual Book Sale includes about 12,000 books as well as hundreds of music CDs and DVDs and an assortment of other media, including audiobooks, CD ROMs, vinyl records or cassettes.

The event is one of the biggest, most varied selection of books and media under one roof in Baldwin County. Items for sale cover tables that fill the entire main hall of the Foley Civic Center.

The books are sorted and displayed by category–hardbacks and paperbacks in excellent condition in most categories including science fiction, art, children’s, pop fiction, cooking, history, biography and large-format photo books. All items are discount-priced at a fraction of normal costs.
