As part of Foley’s Sister City program with the city of Hennef, Germany, residents have a chance to sign up for a German language class being offered by the University of South Alabama.

The online classes will be taught by a native German speaker. The eight-week course will be taught over Zoom. Each week’s course will be two hours in length for a total of 16 hours of instruction.

The classes will begin Sept. 14. The classes are tentatively set for Thursday evenings, but could be rescheduled to Mondays if the group prefers. Class times are tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. but could be moved to another two-hour time period if class members wish.

At least four students must sign up for the class for the course to take place. The course fee will be $300. The course will also require an online textbook.

The class is not for college credit.
