FOLEY – Foley residents are reminded that the two-day July 4 holiday will affect garbage, recycling and yard waste collection schedules.
City offices, including Foley Public Works, will be closed Thursday and Friday, July 4 and 5 for the Independence Day holiday.
The two-day holiday could delay some collection of limbs and yard wastes following the closing. Residents are encouraged to plan ahead for the change in schedules.
Garbage and recyclable collection usually scheduled for July 4 will be collected Tuesday, July 2. Collections scheduled for Friday, July 5 will be picked up Wednesday, July 3.
The collection of limbs, yard wastes and bulk debris will resume Monday, July 8. Crews will begin collection on routes regularly scheduled for collection that day and in areas where yard wastes would have been picked up on Wednesday, July 3.
Garbage collection will take priority for pickups followed by recyclables until the collections are completed and up to date. Yard waste routes could be delayed for several days until all pickups are completed.
All collection routes begin at 6 a.m. each day.
