National Library Week (April 3- 9, 2022) is a time to celebrate our nation’s libraries, library workers’ contributions and promote library use and support.

The theme for National Library Week 2022 is “Connect With Your Library.”  Please come connect with the Foley Public Library and view our staff’s BookFace creations, April 4-9.  See if you can choose which staff member created each photo.

If you are new to the area or have just never been to your local library, now is a good time to come by and get a library card.  In Foley, you simply need a photo ID with your current Foley address.  If you don’t have your address on your photo ID, you can bring in a piece of mail with your name at your current Foley address along with your photo ID.  Library cards are free to Foley residents.

Library workers continue to exceed their communities’ demands and adapt resources and services to meet their users’ needs during these challenging times. Whether people visit in person or virtually, libraries offer endless opportunities to transform lives through education and lifelong learning.

First sponsored in 1958, National Library Week is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) and observed in libraries across the country each April. All types of libraries – school, public, academic and special – participate.
