Foley Reaches Goal of Planting 250 Trees for America’s 250th Anniversary

As part of the nationwide celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, Foley has reached its goal of planting 250 trees throughout the city in 2026. The tree-planting effort is one of several projects underway as Foley joins communities across the nation in commemorating the semiquincentennial, marking 250 years since the founding of the United States in 1776. Permanent Markers to Designate Foley Arts and Entertainment District

Visitors to downtown Foley will soon see new permanent markers identifying the boundaries of the city's popular Arts and Entertainment District. The Foley City Council recently approved the installation of pre-printed thermal markers that will designate the limits of the district. The new markers will replace the stencil signs that were painted on sidewalks when the district was first established. Foley moving forward with nature park improvements

Visitors to Foley’s nature parks will soon enjoy new amenities, including restrooms, trail signage and a pavilion, as the city continues investing in outdoor recreation and conservation facilities. The Foley City Council recently approved plans to move forward with several projects at city nature parks, including improvements at Graham Creek Nature Preserve and Wolf Creek Park. U.S. Senator Katie Britt Directly Secures Over $2 Million for the City of Foley

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Ala.), Chair of the Subcommittee on Homeland Security Appropriations, recently directly secured $2.063 million for the City of Foley in the Fiscal Year (FY) 26 Homeland Security Appropriations Act. This funding will improve the city’s storm resiliency during major tropical storm events by burying vulnerable utilities. SEEDS Grant Supports New Industrial Development Site in Foley

A state grant awarded to Foley will help create new opportunities for jobs, business growth and long-term economic development in the city and throughout Baldwin County. Downtown parking lot to close for improvements

The downtown Foley public parking lot near the intersection of Alabama 59 and U.S. 98 will close for several days starting Monday for the next phase of the improvement project. The lot will close at 6 a.m. Monday, June 1, and is scheduled to remain closed until Thursday, June 4, at 5 p.m. The city purchased the lot in 2025. Foley planning fourth fire station

Foley is moving ahead with plans to build the city’s fourth fire station following the acquisition of property that will expand fire protection coverage on the north side of the city. Foley Fire Chief Joey Darby said the parcel on East Fern Avenue has been donated to the city and officially recorded.
