Foley preparing WWII exhibit

FOLEY – The city of Foley is seeking residents’ memories and memorabilia of World War II in order to help create a museum exhibit and other displays commemorating the era. Harkins receives Foley Extra Mile award

FOLEY -- Sara Kate Harkins, city events coordinator, received the Extra Mile Award for outstanding service. East Violet Avenue closed for road work

FOLEY – East Violet Avenue on the north side of Heritage Park will be closed Monday, April 8 and Tuesday, April 9 for road improvements. Crews closed East Violet Avenue between North McKenzie Street (Alabama 59) and North Chicago Street on Monday morning. The road is scheduled to remain closed until 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 9. Foley plans truck limits on Stabler Avenue

FOLEY – Large trucks will be restricted from using Kenny Stabler Avenue under an ordinance approved by the Foley City Council. Trucks with more than two axles, such as semi-trailer rigs, are not allowed to use the road between East Pride Boulevard and South Juniper Street. Parker recognized for decades of service to library

FOLEY – From her start as a librarian being paid 50 cents an hour, Kathleen Parker served the Foley Public Library for more than 45 years. The City Council recognized Parker for her decades of service with a proclamation commemorating her work for the library and citizens of Foley. Parker served on the Foley LIbrary Advisory Board from 1971 until she stepped down in 2024. Ambulatory surgery center planned in Foley

FOLEY – An ambulatory surgery center is planned in Foley near the site of the expanding South Baldwin Regional Medical Center. The Foley Planning Commission voted in its March meeting to recommend approval of the project. The proposal will now go to the Foley City Council for final approval at a future date. Foley downtown walking tours start Saturday

FOLEY – More than a century of local history will be on display in April when Foley conducts walking tours of the downtown historic district. Indoor pool on Foley agenda

FOLEY – The first step toward building an aquatics center at the site of the city pool in Max Griffin Park is one of the items on the Foley City Council agenda for Monday, April 1.
