More than 100 classic cars, free fireworks, in-Park activities

This Labor Day weekend will be one to remember for the Gulf Coast as OWA hosts its first Labor Day Car Show and spectacular fireworks display on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2018.

“We are excited to partner with Foley First Baptist Church Missions Program to produce the inaugural OWA Labor Day Car Show,” said Kristin Hellmich, OWA’s Director of Marketing/PR. “With more than 100 entries already received, this event is sure to stir a sense of nostalgia as you walk through the beautiful streets of Downtown OWA.”

More than 100 vehicles have signed up to participate and will line the streets of Downtown OWA from 8am-4pm on Saturday, Sept. 1. From hot rods to classic cars, there will be a trophy presentation at 3pm for various categories including Pastor’s Choice, OWA Choice, Best of Show, Best Rat Rod and many more. The Labor Day Car Show will take place along the admission-free streets of Downtown OWA and will benefit the Foley First Baptist Church Missions Program. To register your hot rod, contact (251) 747-6223.

In celebration of Labor Day weekend, The Park at OWA will be open Friday-Monday giving guests plenty of time to catch all the thrills The Park has to offer. Park goers can enjoy a variety of fun, free family activities included with a paid admission. Hand paint your own American flag T-shirt, cool off at the new splash pad or enjoy more than 21 rides.

Stick around Saturday night for OWA’s famous fireworks show at 8:45pm. Bring your own chairs, find a spot on the Island, or enjoy several of our restaurants’ outdoor patios as the one-of-a-kind show lights up the night sky.

The Labor Day Car Show, fireworks spectacular and Downtown OWA activities are all free for the public to enjoy. Entry to The Park at OWA does require a separate paid admission. More information, times and car show registration can be found at VisitOWA.com/Events.
