FOLEY – A project to calm traffic on Foley Streets is one of the items on the Foley City Council agenda for Tuesday, April 8.

The council meeting and work session will begin at 4 p.m. in Foley City Hall. The meeting was moved from Monday due to scheduling conflicts.

One of the items on the agenda is the construction of traffic calming measures on Park Avenue south of Foley High School. 

The council approved designing the Park Avenue project in 2024. The Foley Street Department is developing plans for traffic calming measures throughout the city with the Park Avenue project being one of the efforts.

Other items on the council agenda for Tuesday, April 8 include:

  • A public hearing on an ordinance to rezone property from R1-A residential single family, to PUD, planned unit development.
  • A public hearing on an ordinance to amend the Foley Zoning Ordinance.
  • A public hearing to consider an ordinance to amend the single-member voting districts in Foley.
  • A proclamation recognizing the Battle of Lexington in 1775.
  • Receiving the annual report from Leisure Services for the 2024 Fiscal Year.
  • The first reading of an ordinance to amend the Foley Zoning Ordinance.
