The Foley City Council will hold its regular work session and meeting Monday, June 16.
The meeting will begin at 4 p.m. in the council chambers at Foley City Hall.
Among the items on the agenda are:
- A public hearing to consider an ordinance to add provisions pertaining to the licensing of the sale of consumable hemp products in the corporate limits and police jurisdiction of the city of Foley.
- A discussion of the Aquatics Center.
- A report on bills approved and paid in May 2026.
- Department reports on planning and zoning, building, HR applicants, police, fire and taxes and permits-plan reviews.
- The first reading of an ordinance relating to speed limits and traffic controls on Irwin Street between Azalea Avenue and Michigan Avenue.
- The first reading of an ordinance donating and conveying parcels from the L&N Railroad right of way to the city of Loxley.
- The first reading of an ordinance accepting public rights of way and infrastructure improvements in Bay Street Village subdivision for city maintenance.
- The first reading of an ordinance adopting a technical design manual governing design, development, permitting and construction standards within the city of Foley and repealing certain prior ordinances.
- The first reading of an ordinance amending the current adopted Building Code.
- The second reading of an ordinance accepting public rights of way and infrastructure improvements in Glenlakes phases 3A, 3B and 3C for city maintenance.
- The second reading of an ordinance to add provisions pertaining to the licensing of the sale of consumable hemp products in the corporate limits and police jurisdiction of the city of Foley.
- Approving a restaurant liquor license for Waffles R Wild at 217 N. McKenzie St.
- Approving a July retirement award.
- Approving and appropriating funding for the West Lawson and Pine Street extension project and accepting the professional services agreement from Sawgrass Services.
- Setting a public hearing to declare weeds and the accumulation of junk to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement on West Fig Avenue.
- Memorializing the acceptance of the Alabama Semiquincentennial Community Grant.
- Approving monthly bids for May 2026.
- Installing street lights in the Peachtree subdivision.
- Amending the classification plan in the Marketing Department for communications positions.
- Memorializing the approval of a change order to Roy Lewis Construction Corporation related to the construction of the First Responder Safe Room.
- Declaring Lt. Glenn Hartenstein’s badge and service weapon as surplus.
- Setting a public hearing to declare weeds, trash and stagnant water to be a public nuisance and ordering its abatement on West Palm Avenue.
- Increasing the departmental budget dollars using cash from the Restricted Local Drug Fund account #107-1071 and Donation Account.
- Reappointing Jerry Morrison to the Foley Historical Commission.
- Reappointing Tyler Higginbotham to the Foley Historical Commission.
- Reappointing Perry Hand to the Riviera Utilities Board.
- Reappointing Dr. Brett Taylor to the Library Advisory Board.
- Entering into an agreement with Adams Stewart Architects LLC for design services to a prefabricated structure for the city of Foley.
- Amending the pay classification for the Marketing Department.
- Applying for the Fiscal Year 2027 Gulf Coast Resource Conservation and Development Council grant.
- Authorizing the acceptance of a timber harvesting proposal for the Foley Beach Express West Industrial Site.
- Approving WAS Design’s professional services proposal for landscape architectural services.
- Approving William Blackstock Architects’ proposal for professional services for the new Senior Center.
- Waiving fees for the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation’s use of Heritage Park and pavilion for the Walk This Way ’80s 5K Fundraiser event and after party.
