* Riviera Utilities boil order for drinking water expires at 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18.
* Debris Removal – The city has a standing contract for storm-related debris removal. City public works department employees along with three crews are currently working to clear city streets, which is the top priority for citizens as well as for fire and police protection. Two additional contractor crews are in route to help. The crews must wait for utility companies to remove downed power lines before clearing any debris with electrical line entanglement. Details regarding actual debris removal will come later.
* Garbage and recycle pickup – see post from earlier today. Some commercial and residential garbage will be picked up over the weekend.
* Riviera Utilities and Baldwin EMC continue working around the clock to restore power. Both companies are assisted by other power crews from across the region to get power restored to residents and businesses as quickly as possible. Both utility companies are making frequent updates on their websites: RivieraUtilities.com and BaldwinEMC.com. Both companies also have Facebook pages.
* City officials are working through the process for a federal disaster declaration. Our city information is being funneled to county officials who will submit on behalf of the entire county. Officials believe that receiving this designation is a foregone conclusion.
* There is a No Burn Order for all of Baldwin County issued by the Alabama Department of Forestry, prohibiting open burning in 12 counties May thru October. https://forestry.alabama.gov/Pages/Fire/BurnRestrictions.aspx
