City officials announced that the Foley Kids Park will be undergoing minor renovations beginning this week. The park was built in March 2001 by volunteers and funded by donations from area residents. The park has provided years of service for Foley’s youngest residents. Recently, the city recognized that it is time for restoration and repairs to keep it safe.

A part of the fund-raising efforts at that time the park was built included handprints on tiles to recognize the donors. Unfortunately, because of deterioration, the handprint tiles are now razor sharp surfaces that cannot be saved. City workers have researched the issue and have been unable to find a solution that would allow the keepsake tiles to continue to be used.

The City of Foley appreciates all of the donations that helped to make the Foley Kids Park possible and truly regrets having to take this action.
