The city is in assessment mode.

Please avoid unnecessary travel as many roadways  are still blocked. City crews are working to clear roadways. Contractors arrived this morning to assist with opening roads.
Most residents throughout the city are without power. Riviera Utility reports countless trees down and widespread damage to utility equipment. Riviera estimates restoration times will vary widely, depending on location. Customers are advised to expect to be without power anywhere from two to seven days, on average.
Utility crews from across the southeast are working with Riviera employees to get power restored.
Garbage and recycling collection is suspended until next week.
City operations, except for health, public safety and emergency services will remain closed until Monday, Sept.21.
Thank you to the many city employees who worked tirelessly during the storm to rescue those in danger and to keep major thoroughfares open.
Stay safe.
