South Baldwin Regional Medical Center Breaks Ground on Significant Expansion Project

Submitted by South Baldwin Regional Medical Center FOLEY, AL – South Baldwin Regional Medical Center broke ground today on construction to expand and modernize the hospital, enhance services and increase overall capacity to care for patients in Alabama’s fastest-growing city. Foley to host 42nd Annual Arbor Day Celebration

Foley, Alabama – Foley’s Revitalization and Beautification Advisory Board invites the community to the city’s 42nd Annual Celebration of Arbor Day. Celebrate Arbor Day, read a book!

Books about trees are given to Foley school libraries each year to celebrate Arbor Day and highlight the importance of trees. Foley Mayor Hellmich and members of the Beautification Committee award the books to school representatives at the Feb. 6 City Council meeting. Foley Planning Commission February agendas

The Foley Planning Commission plans two upcoming meetings for February, a work session on Feb. 8 and a regular session on Feb. 15. During the meeting, the commission will discuss: A request for Terracore Development Services for a one-year extension of a preliminary approval for Primland Phase 3 for a 50-lot subdivision on 23 acres at the southeast intersection of County Road 12 and Wolf Bay Drive. Tiltrotor aircraft conducts practice at Foley Municipal Airport

There was a lot of interest from the public about the unique Navy Aircraft that practiced at the Foley Airport last Sunday. It was a Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey, known as a tiltrotor aircraft. This is a combination helicoptor/airplane which combines the best characteristics of both. It is capable of vertical take-off and landing. Foley Police Officers complete Command and Staff Leadership College

Congratulations to Sgt. Robert Fennell, Sgt. Jarrett Holcombe, Sgt. Daniel Hudson, Sgt. Mitch Nelson, and Sgt. Randy Stallworth. All five successfully completed the Command and Staff Leadership College during the 18th session. Sgt. Hudson received the Presidential Award, Sgt. Holcombe received the Distinguished Writer Award, and Sgt. Stallworth was part of a three-man team that was awarded the Capstone Research Project Award. City of Foley Council Meeting Agenda Jan. 17, 2023

The Foley City Council will meet in a joint work/regular session on Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. at city hall. The council normally meets on Mondays but moved this meeting because of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday Jan. 16. City offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, in celebration of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. All departments except emergency personnel will be closed, reopening on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023.
