Thousands of best-sellers, classics and other gently used books will be available beginning Wednesday, Feb. 5, when the Friends of the Foley Public Library host their annual Book Sale at the Foley Civic Center.

The main sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Feb. 7. On Saturday, shoppers can fill a Tanger shopping bag for $5. Admission is free and the sale is open to the public.

A special preview sale for Friends of the Foley Public Library members will be held Thursday, Feb. 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. Memberships will be available at the door. Annual memberships cost $10 for individuals and $15 for families.

The Book Sale is a fundraiser for the Foley Public Library, with all proceeds benefiting the library and related literacy programs.

The sale features thousands of books along with hundreds of music CDs and DVDs, as well as other media such as audiobooks, CD-ROMs, vinyl records and cassettes. The event offers one of the largest and most varied selections of books and media under one roof in Baldwin County, filling the entire main hall of the Foley Civic Center.

Books are sorted and displayed by category, with hardback and paperback titles in excellent condition. Categories include science fiction, art, children’s books, popular fiction, cooking, history, biography and large-format photo books. All items are priced at a fraction of typical retail costs.

The Friends of the Foley Public Library is a nonprofit organization that raises funds to support the Foley Public Library and literacy initiatives. More information is available at foleylibrary.org/friends-of-the-library.
